my 35i passat also has the underbody cover.
but its just plastic, can i add something to it than can absorve the sound and still resist the weather and heat?
something cheap,this is a vw
Probably some sort of liquid sound deadening like lizard skin. It is ceramic and will take the heat. Maybe truck bedliner, but I don't know how much heat your are talking, undercoat can run close to exhaust with minimal issues.
My engine was incredibly loud until i replaced all of the hydraulic lifters. now it's (no exaggeration) half as loud or less...
what i thought was injector noise was lifter clack.
if anyone owns a 8v VW with hudro lifters, and the lifters are of unknown mileage, then they probably need replacing..
my last set of hydro lifters made it 40k miles and now i got a ticker again..
anyone know if you can get lifters for VWs with that tiny hole in the face to oil the cam?
I think I may need to do this, where do you get decent lifters?
