im not sure the exhaust bypass valve is a good idea as it completely shuts out exhaust does it not? a proper exhaust brake i would think would still allow air past it, or would it just not be able to close completely as the air has nowhere else to go? i could run onboard air and have a pressure valve so i could set it for any pressure i want, that would be cool.
Not much gets by, I had one malfunction on a Cummins in such a way as o come on with throttle...
It wold blow about 100 gallons of particulates, then stall the engine unless you let off.
Literally dusted nearby cars with soot flakes.

An exhaust throttle is very cool from a maintenance and driveability standpoint, and they work great.
Just as a guess, you can probably get s used EBPV from a Powerstroke for cheap.
