EXEDY Part # 17004 Disc mm: 200; Disc In: 7-7/8; Splines Dia: 13/16; Splines: 24
Stock replacement for 1981 standard transmission.
I think maybe you have your numbers backwards kEvo?
The 91 has a bad bad bad rear bearing drone, and i can't fully hear any noises coming from the tranny.. SO I think I will just mate it to the 4K already in my 84 and use the clutch that is on the engine already. Easiest solution by far. Also it will make the car tons'o'fun in town where it is driven %90 of the time. and the other %10 of the time I will have to suffer with 3500+ rpm's lol. Or swap out the 5th from the garbage 91 trans. We'll see.
IIRC the 020 before 93 were the small 24 spline except some 16V. Passats maybe too??? All of the diesel boxes were definately small splined.
any 16v 020, or post 93 020, will have the 24mm shaft,
any other 020, will have a 22mm shaft..
a 16v clutch disk (24mm hub) will NOT work on an 8v (22mm hub) transmission.
and notice im talking about the shaft diameter, not the spline count...
Kev where did you get your sig from? A girl at work had this on her facebook page.. lol hilarious
Also I will only be mixing mk1/mk2 stuff, anything to look out for other than what was mentioned? i dont have any 24mm shafts so i should be set to start mixin it up ! lol
