I read somewhere that malone left his gas fuel pump in his car when he swapped in a diesel. i was thinking of putting in an auxillary pump anyway and this would save a little time and money.
can anyone shed some light on this.

I read malone's thread on vwvortex. He still uses the in tank fuel pump from the gasser. I guess there's no problem doing so.

That's what I'm doing too. IfI have any problems I make sure to let everyone know, but I don't see any reason it shouldn't -- probably just increase the flowrate out the return.

A TDIclub member did a dyno a while ago and saw 5HP gain in the upper RPM range after trying an electric lift pump.
The lift pump supposedly reduces vacuum load in the diesel injection pump. It's also good for the longevity of the injection pump's low pressure side, which normally & gradually wears out over time.

i was planning on adding a lift pump anyway so this will just save a step. thanx for the info guys
