FS: 1985 1.6L NA Jetta Diesel Coupe
« on: September 08, 2010, 11:04:01 am »
I have a nice 1.6L NA Jetta Diesel Coupe for sale in Doylestown, PA. It has been a great car but, I am moving to Hong Kong for work so I must part with it. I bought the car this time last year for $1800, since then, I have put over $2000 worth of parts into it.
The Specs:
1985 1.6L NA Diesel jetta Coupe
Best MPG: 48.3
Miles: ~179k
Transmission: 5 speed

Let me start with the bad because if it turns you away then you probably don't want a MKII.

The Bad:
The trunk leaks (I fixed the worst parts of it but some water is still getting through some pin-size holes. I have had it filled with luggage in rain storms and it has never been a problem)
There is a hole in the trunk because of rust, there were two, I fixed one, it is an easy fix
Burns Coolant (After about 1000miles the coolant level drops below min and the light goes on in the cluster, no big deal I just fill it back up, I will even throw in free coolant.)
Odometer broken (just broke, I have a spare working one that I will throw in for free)
Emergency Brakes do not work (trying to replace one side I had pulled the guide tube out now it has no tension )
The power steering rack leaks or it did (I haven't noticed it recently) I have no power steering belt on the car currently and I will throw in a mint used power steering rack, free.

The Good:
New timing Belt
New tensioner
NEW GILES PERFORMANCE FUEL PUMP!
New Refurbed Injectors from AutohausAZ
New Acc. belts
New viton injector return lines
New 5um fuel filter
New air filter
New tires all around
New front pads and rotors ( I will also throw in a set of SS brake lines free)
Decent Grey Recaro seats
Upgraded USRT shifter bushings
Upgraded Turbo Diesel Cluster with WORKING TACH
Repaired door jam by NLS (when the locks froze and smashed the door pin)
Other than the trunk the car is virtually rust free
Professionally detailed by Jay Lehrmann himself (the hood and roof are still kind of rough but everything else looks good)
I will have pictures this evening...

I will take $2000obo for a quick sale (basically 1800 for the car and 200 for the parts or think of it as the car for free and the parts and all my labor for 2000).

Call me at 267-337-1575 if you have the cash and are interested. If the car doesn't sell it is no big deal to me I just want this car to go to a good home.
