AAZ injector line question
« on: September 04, 2010, 11:28:44 am »

Can any one tell me what this line should hook up to?  I bought this engine shipped in a crate and I didn't get to see it in an engine bay... ???

Looks to me like the return. There should be an OUT bolt on the injection pump with 2 copper washers for each side of that. On of the lines goes to one injector and the other goes to the return to the tank.

Here is a pic of what I think is a the return line right next to the fuel in line.  I was thinking it may be a return line but there is already next to the fuel line going in.

Looks like a Bonus part.  An extra banjo that normally goes on the top of the IP pump and serves two purposes.  The little black hose is connected to the injector behind the timing belt and returns excess fuel to the pump.  The clear line would have gone to the fuel tank to return excess pump fuel there.  I say mod it up to be able to monitor internal pump pressure for "tuning" for mileage as Hagar calls it "Smileage"

Yes, the part you're holding in the first picture is the return banjo.

Fuel from the pump comes up the centre, fuel returning from the injectors comes in the side thru the black hose, and it all heads back to the fuel filter warming tee thru the clear hose in your second picture.

So the question is... in your second picture... is there a barb fitting on your existing banjo?  If so... the black hose goes there.  If not, swap in the proper banjo with the fitting for the return line from the injector.

thanks guys!  With your help I think I know what is going on.  I do have an extra part here.  I already have a banjo fitting on my IP and a line coming of it that fits nicely and neatly on the fourth injector where the the dangling banjo fitting is in the picture.  So, I pulled the piece off and hooked up the line of my IP.  Done! here's a pic of the banjo fitting already on my IP with the injection line that I put on my fourth injector for the return line just sticking up in the air.
