on my 91 theres a very loud rattle coming from the water pump and i can see the second pulley closest to the engine rattling. is this part hard to find? how could this have broken off, its a pulley they never break like this. belt isnt too tight. my car has ac. how do i take the pulley off without spining the pump.

they make a tool for this, it slips around the edge of the 3 bolts. holds everything firm.
idk what else you would do for something like this, ive always had the pulley in one piece taking it off.
post pics of it when you get it off..

IIRC, the inner pulley is just an idler, ie it's got a bearing in the center, and doesn't actually drive the water pump, so my guess is the bearing is shot.

is this part just un-available? because i just spent the last 4 hours online looking for it and absolutely nothing has shown up thats anything like it. it sounds like a bag of nails being dragged on the road behind it lol. i have a donor car that i can take it off but no tool, is there anything i can use to jam it with to yank it off? also; the bearing in the pulley, is it replacable? vince if your reading i know you will have an answer:p

does someone have a double waterpump pulley that they can post a pic of? because i tried to take one off another car, i got all the bolts off but the pulley wont come off, now the inner pulley is rattling like mine. is there a way to put a single pulley system o n it?
