Hello All,
Just wondering if there's anyone who can answer this for me. Last night I came home after walking the dog to find a large puddle of diesel under the 1985 jetta. Further investigation shows the line from the water separator to the line feeding the fuel filter had separated. The previous owner looks to have stuffed the smaller of the hoses (to filter) inside of the lager hose (out from water separator) and applied a hose clamp. Is there a connector I could put at this union to make it more solid? The current setup looks like a hacked together fix - I'm feeling like I'm missing a piece in between.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
compression fittings usually work for nylon tubing. Rubber and hose clamps aren't all that bad of a fix though
Yeah, they are two different sizes so it would be tempting to put one inside the other... except that it doesn't work very well, as you have found out.

Perhaps someone can weigh in with the actual tubing dimensions... when faced with a problem like this I tend to snip a 1/4" sample from both ends and then head to the plumbing department my local Rona or Home Depot to look for a barb fitting that will fit both sizes reasonably well.
