It will fit, but the A/C system has a different intake. There is a little door to let in outside air or recirculate the interior air over on the passenger side of the raintray. The non A/C cover is shorter and does not cover the A/C intake so you may end up with more water in the interior than you would if it wasn't there at all.
"so you may end up with more water in the interior than you would if it wasn't there at all."
Your saying that if I buy the water deflector that is made for non-A/C cars, I'll have more water in the interior? How about if I never use the A/C? It dosen't work anyway.
Thanks for the input! I appreciate it.
The end of the plastic tray is right over where the inlet is for the AC/Defroster. The water may run right off the end and into the intake. The A/C normally recirculates so you'd actually be better off if you did use the A/C.
So unless I can find a water deflector that is especially made for cars with A/C, I'm better off not having one at all, right?
Thank you!
So, the non A/C one is still available and is part number 171819415F, however it says the A/C one is not.
If we look at the 85 Cabriolet we find it has a couple different water deflectors for A/C. The earlier one is 155820415 and then later it went to 155820415A. If you punch in the part number, the earlier one has been superceeded to the 155820415A part number. I don't see why that wouldn't work as they are essentially the same car.
