« on: August 05, 2010, 02:59:26 pm »
Another project! Daughter's 98 Jetta TDI. She came home from work turned it off. Next day tried to start it,Click! Calls me, Okay maybe battery died. Took a battery, Click. Put it in gear, rocked it,Stuck. Hydra-locked? took out glow plugs, nothing! Stuck! Just changed oil week ago(Rotella 5w40) Took TB and cam loose, Stuck! Going to pull pan now. Any thoughts? She said there were no alarms or lights on when she turned it off.
Thanks
Herb

Most perplexing. try setting it to TDC and pulling the belt off the cam, then try turning it? I wouldn't pull the pan unless you suspect some bearing damage from no oil.

I can't get my engine (AAZ) to turn in 1st gear even with some violent rocking. Better luck with a ratchet.
