I am hopefully going to be driving my cousins 300D diesel.
What can I expect for mileage? Paint is rough, other than that its a good car. What is the going price for these as he is selling it as soon as I am done with the Jetta?

Presumably you are talking about a 300D turbo (US) (W123.133) with an automatic? Maybe 23 city, 28 highway. Worth maybe $1500-$2000 if not rusty and in decent shape, on a good day

That is exactly the animal. The paint is faded and I am going to try to buff it out later, but absolutely no rust that I could see.

To be honest, I have never had to mess with the IP on any of the 4 Mercedes diesels I have ( they have timing chains
.
When you say "mess" do you mean set the timing? There is a method by which you note where #1 injector starts to drip.....
This is the place to go to find out about the wonders of the old Mercedes diesel...

I will check that out, but what I am meaning is turn up fuel. I found the wastegate but I need a little more fuel. Is there any mods like our VE pump that you can use a screwdriver for more power:D

Not that I am aware of. I don't think the in line pump has much tuneability. I mean, it's pistons....

It is pretty rough. The first hour of driving some city slicker stopped on a back road backed into me. Now the drivers side is dented up. Before it needed painted or some unreal kind of detialing, but now it needs door work and paint. I will try to get some pics as I need to pull some off the cell phone for my build thread anyway.

Mercedes benz not BMW lol.
We were both pointed the same direction on a back road. If there is such a thing as the other lane on this road he was in it. He was stopped, I stopped, he pulled forward threw it in reverse and backed into me. I went into the ditch trying to find the horn, but it wouldn't have mattered. He hit the driver door about the same time as I found the horn and continued into the rear driver door the whole time I was laying on the horn.
Figures as I had the car an hour and get into the first accident I have been in in over 10 years *both not my fault*

i meant he was in a BMW (being a city slicker) lol.
that seems like it is most possibly the stupidest thing I could ever even imagine.
I hope your gonna get every cent you deserve from him to repair it..... maybe even more so the Jetta can get some paint

Thing that sucks is it is my cousins car I am just driving to help him sell...and the fact my GTI isn't road worthy. It looked like he was in a 15 passenger rental van, no BMW. From Columbus...if you ever come to Ohio venture to Holmes County. Some would say Columbus isn't a big city, but Holmes County is FAR from urban. There isn't a 4 lane highway in the entire county. Most of the county and township roads were dirt until a couple years ago. Now most are chip and seal, some are actually paved. It isn't Mayberry, but for 2010 it is close.
My cousin is having me get estimates, so he should get some cash for it.

Tough cars. I had an 84 300TD. Milage sucks but a nice solid ride. I supplemented my fuel with filtered used motor oil. Sold it to a customer and have been makin money on it ever since.
