We don't have much in the way of bone yards around here, but talking of brown interiors, I have a wish list of brown mk2 trim if you have any lying around.

R.O.R - yeah, Mojave is darker, and golder,
Sahara is almost a khaki with metallic..

I love this car for being a period piece,
Gold body, brown interior, carpet, 85, orig Turbo Diesel,
good ol' school mid 80s stuff. (at least on the exterior)
I also have a set of factory brown rubber "VOLKSWAGEN" floor mats,
and a set of NOS "Jetta" mudflaps that sit 1" from the ground.. as in:

Jasons:
I have lots and lots of brown trim,
what do you need specifically?

If I werent working late tonight, I would have gone off on another CL hunt,
saw an ad for "VW Motor and Transmission, $50" with no other details.
Assuming it is just an 8v gasser, I'll offer him $40 for the trans and engine accessories, and put ANOTHER 020 in my spare bedroom...

I picked up a complete and i mean complete TDi swap at the local pick and pull. Pedal assembly, shift cable, trans, wiring, ecu, fuse panel, cluster, turbo, down pipe, all hoses and of course the very nice looking ahu with 121,000 on it for $400. I sure hope it runs! I'll be attaching a radiator and battery this weekend and hopefully running it on the cherry picker!

One of my local best friends has the exact same car as his daily driver.
85 TDGL exact same colors in and out as yours.
I scored it for him about 3 years ago.

My 85 TDGL is White outside / Brown inside.

I have most everything to switch interior to black/grey.
Might stay with Brown if i come across better door panels (lower ruffaging  >:(  ) My seats are still pretty nice.

G R E A T   S C O R E ! on the Mintastic Brown interior on CList  !

Hi Five Man

I'd spray the backsides of the door panels with 3M undercoating or RhinoLiner  :o

Where are you located and what are you looking for? Please send me a message.

I am slowly replacing my mk2's brown interior and potato sack upholstery with something more contemporary.

scored 4 155/80r13 Blizzak snow tires from the tire shop. They were mounted and ran less than a winter all have 95% or more tread 120.00 out the door.

I am tired of too much power in the snow/ice around here. With all the mods I did it really will break the tires loose in the summer, but in the winter with the anti friction additive *snow* I can rarely get traction.

Just scored some Caddy stuff to unload eventually:
OEM Rear slider: $20
Lower timing cover: free
Rear bumper INNER end caps: free
Grill (Rabbit sedan style): $13
Misc craps.

They just opened a new pick and pull outside of Nashville a few months ago. A 1990 Jetta GLI hit the lost about 2 weeks ago, and I guy I know got the Recaros for $50. They're in really nice, usable shape too. Now he's trying to sell them for $300!

Can't you just pull 1 or 2 spark plug wires and drop some power ?

LOL!
I could unhook the lda to the turbo...that is what happens, try to lug it a little and as soon as it makes 2 psi boost then it has enough torque to break free. On second thought the lda really doesn't come on strong until about 8 or 9...maybe I could loosen some injector lines  ;)

I guess this is the right thread for this but the other day I was at the junkyard looking to get parts for my truck and I found an advertisement and coupons for Kragen Auto Parts...

they expired in June, 1983, that's almost as old as I me...

I guess it's proof that some people never clean their cars.
