Exhaust outlet from turbo
« on: May 26, 2010, 09:00:48 am »
I have one quick question - I have fabricated a 2.5" outlet from the turbo out of 304 stainless that is about 12" long.  Can I change to aluminize pipe at a 90°  already or do I need to go futher with the stainless so I'm not changing exhaust tubing every year because of the heat reducing it to nothing.

stainless headers on the modern 4 stroke dirt bikes routinely glow red at idle and they are about as thin as can be and they last 5+ years. They might be 316 though.
