« on: April 15, 2010, 06:11:02 pm »
20 psi too much??? 25????? Boost pin is set at max. star wheel is about three turns from the bottom. Flat road 80 mph 850-950 EGT holding about 8 psi boost pressure. Almost 200 kilomiles on the engine.

I think it will take some mods to get 25 psi out a k24 while keeping the egt's reasonable. I max out at 17 psi at around 1400F with a straight exhaust but stock diameter and no intercooler. I have head studs/metal hg  too but they are really not a factor below 25 psi.

Iv got 2.25" exhaust, and a small intercooler plus its a Caddy. Not very heavy. Yeah the EGT is really climbing at 20 psi but I usually back off at about 1200 degrees. I have a long comute so my driving is mostly highway.

is the only limitation to boost out of a k24 the EGT's? i was told that 20psi for short periods of time is ok but for too long it will kill it. I wasn't told what the limiting factor was. Thanks
