AAZ valves
« on: April 16, 2010, 10:05:14 pm »
Does anyone know of the valve diameter (7mm or 8mm)  and if they are a tripple groove.?
Also would using titanium retainers and keepers with the HD high rev. springs be benificial?

Unfortunately the answer is "both"...depending on the exact model and year.

I have only ever run into the 8mm version, mind you, so if you have to guess go there.

Triple groove, and given the RPM range of the average diesel I personally think the stock springs and keepers don't even break into a sweat. ;-)

So they had a split year kind of thing?
But are they both tripple groove'ers  ;D?

Far as I can tell...someone may know better.

My ETKA lists two different sets of valves, but they show the same picture which suggests the same # of grooves??

Again, someone else may have more practical knowledge.

pretty sure the split for 7mm and 8mm valves is the same as an ABA, because isnt an AAZ pretty much a diesel ABA? if i remember right, the ABA got better valves in 98 or something like that. i remember that the split was the late 90s some time. but thats for the ABA, not completely for sure on the AAZ.
