I've gotten several from German eBay. Be sure that the seller will ship to the U.S. and that they accept Paypal.
Unfortunatly two rare things on German eBay.
I've got two of these passat VA's on their way to me as we speak, shipping is like £50 to the US/Canada and only takes 24-48hrs.
It's not all that rare. You can actually add "Paypal" as one of the details in the list so you don't even need to look in the individual auctions. It displays a big "P" at the far end of the list view for each of the auctions that accepts Paypal. Also some sellers will ship to the U.S. even if they don't say so. You just need to ask. Google translate also comes in very handy. When sending messages, I always translate into German and then back to English just to make sure it makes sense.
It's been my experience that they prefer good English to bad German.
...which is what you get from Translator, usually. Brace yourself for the shipping costs. DHL and Deutche Post are the common shipping methods. I've bought a bunch of Subaru E-code headlights on eBay.de and the shipping was usually more than the items cost.

Same here. I usually include my original English version with the poorly translated German version. I've been advised that the majority of people in Germany know English anyways.
