T03 In a TDI
« on: July 31, 2005, 04:44:55 pm »
I'm wanting to build a similar setup to the UPS III kit.  I understand it uses a T03 turbo.  These turbos are quite cheap to get, but I'm not too terribly familiar with what trim I would need.  I see people running as much as 35psi with Garret T03s on TDs on these forums,  what model turbo is used at that level?  I plan to initially run 25psi or so with an 11MM pump and my Sprint 764s.  I might just get the UPS III chiptuning software, unless I find something better in the meantime.

Thx in advance for any info,
--Matt

It's not going to happen if your running an ECU. You'll throw a limp code with in 5 minutes. UPS can't get there STG.III software to work with there "custom" turbo, so it's not going to work with a T3.

As far as I'm reading, with the wastegate set to 18psi or so the car shouldn't even throw a CEL with a wastegated turbo.  I can get software from Aligator or his stateside distributor Quadcomm.  I'm looking at either a diesel T25, K24, or the T03.  I've also considered the GT20.  It looks like this one: http://www.turbocalculator.com/view-product.php?product=002-001-002 may be right...
