you need the 5 speed gear selector shaft, 5 speed ball, and 5 speed linkage rods and that's it. ;)

Get a 5 speed rebuild kit, easy and all the stuff you will need if worn

selector plate from v.w. 55.00

Dont forget to spoil yourself with a new leather knob !

i use one of these cheapo harbor freight dollies to roll it out.  this rabbit needed only to go a little higher up to roll the whole thing out.  And I did this by myself for the most part in the span of a few hours.  remove wheels and axles.  lower until motor sits on dolly.  unhook electrical, and exhaust, motor mounts.  lift (you'll want at least one biggy jack for this part to get it high enough.)  motor rolled right out with both manifolds still attached.
