Greetings,
I am taking an A3 motor out of my 97 Jetta TDI. However before I do this I would like to finish any motor work I am going to do. I need to convert to a mechanical injection pump. While I am doing this, do I get a bigger pump to compliment things such as nozzles? Is there any info of reputible mechanics that could do the pump coversion? I need a list of basic mods to do that would give me more performance without sacrificing reliability when I am in the back country.
Thank you very much for any help!
Chris
i have done this, i had a 1z tdi engine in a mk2 golf and tried many manual pump setup's, none worked great, i ended up just getting a aaz td engine and putting that in instead. not too sure why it wasn't sucessful, but i came to the conclusion that a tdi engine with a manual pump doesn't work.
a TDI engine with a mechanical pump. its been done many many times. both from the factory and custom.
just gotta know what you are doing and get the right parts.
