Hi There. I have a 1987 NA Diesel with what I understand is a rare automatic transmission for sale.
Body in fair condition. Interior in good condition. Transmission is perfect.
Starts and runs fine, nothing wrong with the car (except that it's a bit slow).
146,000 km (not miles). No idea what this thing is worth. Any suggestions/offers?

I don't find my mom's auto slow at all.
i know, but i find ALL n/a diesels slow. 4spd, 5 spd or slushomatic, they are all slow with no boost. sure some of the pumped up n/a's are probably faster, but still not fast in my books.
an n/a with nitrous would probably be fast tho.

OK, so this is probably the slowest thing on the road (the auto box doesn't help much). But it's not that bad for tooling around town. And it's funny. I giggle every time I get behind the wheel in this thing. And it's surprisingly good in the snow.

i had an auto diesel rabbit, it ran really well and would actually spin the tires if ud power break a bit. it was a nice car, just sucks on the highway thats all, they aren't any slower than a manual, they just drive different and have 3 really tall gears. my rabbit awesome also the *** in the snow

Is that a video of an NA?
When my boost pipes leak/come off, my car isn't drivable in comparison to when its making even just 3-5 pounds of boost...

I think that is because of the exhaust restriction the turbo causes Eddy.

Ever driven a rabbit with an automatic AND AC ...wow . I couldn't believe how slow it was. We had one for a while as a parts runner etc and i would take it every time i could in summer, just to experience how anyone could have made something so sslloooowwww.
