86 red cabriolet, new top, alternator and starter, clutch, brakes (master cylinder, lines, rotors, pads, drums-rear bearings, cylinders, shoes and e-brake cables), new fuel sending unit and transfer pump, 2.5" straight exhaust. Newer tires. 1.6turbodiesel engine has 77,000kilometers on it, car has 144,000km. Cute little car, converted for my wife, but she doesn't like diesel. $4500 can etested, was safetied early this summer. Could use paint.
i bet she'll like diesel before long, at this rate!
I am wondering if this cabby has sold?
I am also wondering what issues if any you and/or your Wife ran into with fumes, noise while the top was down?
I am not trying to flame this thread, I believe these to be valid seller/buyer questions.
Thanks!
I just took one apart that had that swap it was awesome the owner and his wife loved it..fumes weren't a problem and it was turbo diesel so exhaust was quiet or sounded cool ie turbo..the body was rotten on it onlt reason he stopped using it..liek i said he loved it for 4 yras or so..so a convertiable diesel shouldn't be a issue i know in europe they have a cabrio td and tdi available.

run veg oil if the fumes are an issue. you can get them to quiet down a little... i don't think the noise should be an issue either. cool car.
