source for 293 or gtd injector tips
« on: December 07, 2009, 01:16:41 pm »
I have gone back and forth on what to run between the 293s or mercedes monark nozzles, but I think I'm going to stick with the vw ones.  Who has the 293 or gtd nozzles for sale?  I can get the nozzles through my shop but they are 17 a piece.  I thought I remembered reading on here at one point people had found them for around 10 to 12 a piece.  Not trying to be a cheap ass but I gotta by six so if I can save 5 bucks a nozzle on six of the same thing I'll go for it!

Thanks for any help.

Jason

One other question as well, I have seen a number of different opening pressures listed.  What is the calibration for higher performance.  I have seen from 140 to 155 bar.  My green book manual for the volvo lists opening pressure to be from 2063 to 2318 psi.  The top end of that spectrum is almost 160 bar...  Any recomendations?  I plan to go through them and get them much closer together than the range they give.  I was thinking about going for around 2400psi (165 bar).  When do you get to a point of too much pressure?

BTW this is for my D24T six

Interesting that the veg-injection site lists the GTD tips as being good for 1.9's as well... I don't think they'll work with the dual spring nozzle holder?

I thought the final "results" for the Merc tips were that they didn't do anything good for VW motors?  IE there were problems with precups being blown out of the head and lots of excess smoke?

thats the general concensus on the forum im pretty sure. no one has ever told me to go put merc tips in my vw.  but there are lots of people running AAZ injector nozzles in merc engines.
