  I have a  tach from a polo for my mk2 gti, which has a tach too.
  can I put it in the mk1?
  any suggestions?
  
  I don't think its a easy swap Sabatino, the polo is new & the gti is from the 1980's?

• no, its not going to plug right in. not a chance. unless the cars have the same style of wiring. but it sounds like you are trying to take a mk2 cluster out and bolt it right into a mk1 car.
