One of the nicest 1980 Rabbits you will find anywhere. Owned by several senior citizens, and always garage kept. The 1980 Rabbits were built in Germany and the quality really shows. The 1981-84 Rabbits were built in the United States.
It still has the original windshield, complete with the factory decal that gives the starting instructions for a diesel. It also still has the factor Rabbits manual!!
It is the top of the line Rabbit in 1981 and was ordered with all the options, tinted windows, metallic paint, am/fm cassette, factory mag style wheels, 5 speed transmission, and sunroof. Both the body and interior are flawless. It has the heavy original black vinyl seats, and perfect interior carpet and a flawless headliner. It also has a collector plate which means that insurance for the entire year is only $200!. There are no modifications on the car!
It gets an honest 58 -60 mpgs with the diesel motor.
I have owned the car for a number of years and did a complete rebuild of the running gear as I had planned to take it to Mexico for the winter. This is a partial list of what was done to make this car run as a new vehicle. All work was done by a VW trained German mechanic.

This Rabbits has taken several long distance trips and has performed flawlessly. It has no computers or sensors to fail. It was restored to new condition to allow me ease of to Mexico. My plans have changed and I will be travelling further south into Panama and South America and have purchased a diesel Landcruiser. This is the only reason for selling the Rabbit.
The car has 260,000 original kms on it. It would make an excellent computer car. It burns no oil between oil changes every 5000 kms and drip no oil.
