hi i'm new & need help

hi everyone i am new on this forum and new to diesel cars, have bought a mk3 1.9 td ( aaz) and wanted to know how can i tune it up. what are the first steps to take? how do i fit a turbo gauge? and what turbo can i use to upgrade mine? all at low cost ov course as i'm a student  any help would me much appreciated thankyou

welcome aboard!!! always nice to get new diesel enthusiasts 
as for tunning, your engine is also refered to as AAZ ( 1.9 TD ) this should help you in your research...

speaking of wich, there are all sorts of mods you can do cheaply to your engine to make it go faster, look for most of them in the FAQ section. any questions you may have at this stage have most likely been covered so try the Seach function as well... but seeing as you are new here you might try this one first... http://www.vwdiesel.net/forum/index.php?topic=579.0

what parts do you need help with??

as for the turbo, try to start by identifying the turbo you have... weather it be a K03, T2 or a K14 it should put out at least 18 psi...
