well, I got in an accident, which totaled it, but it was still drivable, so I did for almost a year.

the shell was plagued with rust so it was scrapped in favor of a red two door shell, but engine problems kept the new shell off the road for over a year, and it was crushed in the end under pressure from the city of Anchorage.

I saved all the worthwhile stuff off of it, which went into the supercharger motor build soon to be installed in the 85 GTI I replaced the red car with.

pics of the damage, swap into the red car, and the poor red rabbit that saw one mile of road.

I hate it when city's make people get rid of stuff, what business is it of there's? >:(
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

With the huge lift from the springs, did you have to monkey around with the drive axles?

he still had the stock suspension limits. im sure he didnt use different struts or anything. the bump stops are built into the struts. i bet the axles worked just fine.

yep, stock struts, so the full droop was the same as stock, which is as far as you can go without having your axle hit the frame horn.

Veector, new or used? Struts/shocks and springs or just springs? Is that freshly installed or after it's had time to settle?

Now its settled a bit so the front is a bit lower but the rear is still up in the air like that.  Its good offroad never gotten stuck but I dont push my luck too much.  The real fun is in deep snow!

I didn't read the whole thread but i've lifted by jetta quite a lot by adding a big nylon spacer ontop of the springs and riding on much bigger tires. 195/65/r15.
the nylon/plastic thing is just like hockey rink material and comes in big ... rolls? of it. You just cut the length to the desired lift and drill a hole the size of the strut plunger thing and drop it down onto the spring.

I brought up the back of my 90 jetta an inch or 2 by doubling up the spring seat on the shock (hope that is what it is called - you know, the bottom plate that the spring sits in)

i have a buddy that has 3 on each side.  just a thought
