To Give Away: M-B 220 Ponton coupe-cabrio project
« on: November 07, 2009, 08:07:33 pm »
Yeah, you read it right - it`s yours for the asking.

1960 220 SE Ponton coupe we bought may years ago. It looked good, so we bought a converible top (Coupes were convertible with permanent hardtops added) and decided to restore it. Once we did the media blasting, it was a bad rust case, and we don't actually DO bodywork (job out). So it got put aside. Front seats (at least) are missing. VERY ambitious project for someone who has a LOT of time and skill. Located Saskatoon, SK. Yours for free. Must come and get (or ship). Offered to my good friends at Miata.net, tdi.club.com, vwdiesel.net
(you might not feel like such a friend if you saw the car!)   Bearutiful car, but NOT for the casual restorer.

This site has some of the most dedicated DIY types, that I thought there might be someone here with the time, patience and skills to do this car.

Check with freight brokers or truckers.  You might find someone coming back from the West deadheading.
