Proper Way on Changing Fuel Filter 1.9 Diesel Jetta?
« on: November 07, 2009, 01:22:32 am »
Hi WOW, the owner manual for the car sucks, for helping change filter

picked up a filter, fill with fresh fuel, sit for many hours, topped up

installed it (BUT) without that bass bushing?

MANY MANY Air bubbles, Dies battery, Hot starter, MAD new Owner.

installed old filter, noticed that bushing, later this weekend try it again

What can speed up this process?

Thanks Cory   Saskatoon,SK :o

Hi It is  a 96 Jetta

Now run it most of the day, went to start it, Huge smoke cloud, rolls over, not firing.

Any one know of VW mechanic in Saskatoon area?

The guy I purchased it from said the timing belt was changed  10,000 km on

But this week I see more cloud each time driving.

thanks Cory

If you get a chance, swing by the airport and look and see where Canadian Helicopter has their hanger. Talk to Jay there he has a 82 rabbit with a 1.9 td under the hood.

I checked all fuses tonight, replaced a few,

Looking for a Good Auto Wrecker in Western CANADA   Amigo's Auto Ltd in Clavet  is good ,but no front end pieces

Thanks for the Great information,  I had time this AM to stop at the VW dealer   (Very scared to go in)  the high price what all dealers are famous for

The correct fuel filter for the Jetta  there is a different one's  the cost was $ 34 dollars   Napa wanted $ 82 and had to order it.

Also ordered the cols start handle & nut, reasonable price,  but shop rate in Saskatoon is $ 109.88/hr

hmmm I had better start saving the fuel saving for the repairs in the future.  OUCH!

Note to self  have a good tow truck company to your VW,  Only 6 oil pans installed this AM at the dealer by the car not towed properly,  bouncing over a railway crossing, crushing the oil pan
