Upgrade your fuel filtration
« on: June 19, 2008, 12:06:02 pm »
Hi Guys,

Tyler and I have been working hard to introduce better-than-stock filtration options for your diesels. We are pleased to offer you several different filtration options from Stanadyne.

Stock filtration is typically around 10-15 micron, which leaves much to desire. Stanadyne's Fuel Manager filters offer second to none fuel filtration options for your fuel system's health.

All Stanadyne Fuel Manager Diesel Fuel Filter/Water Separator Systems offer the following benifiets:
- Remove both particulates and water from the fuel
- All filter assemblies do come with a drain and the water must be drained regularily
- Can be installed on either the suction or pressure side of a lift pump

- FM10 systems are capable of 50US gallons/hour which is roughly 200 HP
- FM100 systems are capable of 80US gallons/hour which is roughly 350 HP

Very nice guys...I'll def. be investing in one at least...maybe two of these systems! Great to see the offerings!  Thanks again Tyler for the PM on it. Do these setups come with mounting brackets and all I'm assuming as well? Did I miss that?

Mounting Brackets

Hi guys

just as the pictures show that's how you get them

so you have to fabricate your own mounting system if they won't
bolt up using the flange.

For the FM10, what is the difference between normal and reverse flow?  Is the hand primer only available on the reverse flow?

FWIW, the hand primer can be a timesaver, and I assume that it would take a lot less effort for a VW engine than a V12 Cummins (done those and you have to pump like crazy for a while).

Reverse Flow?

hey

Reverse flow filters you have to reverse the in and out fittings of
the head unit.

reverse flow has less surface area inside the filter, only it filters
before the hand primer. normal flow doesn't filter the hand primer
assembly but has more surface area for filtering.

I bought myself a FM10 to install in my car in place of the stock filter.

Installation was a breeze. The FM10 is basically the same OD as the stock filter so it installs right in the factory brackets. No mods required. It easily clears the hood despite sitting about an inch higher.

As you can see in the bottom picture, I've installed it as a loose fit so I can easily change the filter when the time comes. I used a chunk of copper pipe to join the 2 return lines together.

No more disturbing the fuel line fittings everytime I need to change the filter. Hopefully this reduces all the air leaks associated with the stock filter setup.

Hand primer is available for both reverse flow and normal flow. Please make sure to specify when ordering.

There's a lot to be chosen and this is what I am looking for. Now I know what should I buy and I am very thankful to my friend because they tell me about this forum. With all your guide I can easily install it with my own.
