This should maybe be in the vendor section but Passenger Performance has 2.5" downpipes for $140 USD. Look in malones post here http://www.vwdiesel.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=1352&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15
to get an idea what they look like. More pics will be up tonight and likely on the website. Shipping extra. Things like flex joints and support brackets can be added at aditional cost. Please feel to post here or email passenger performance. Downpipes can be shipped out as early as wednesday morning. Thanks

I won't have a 1.6 td dp until the weekend when I can borrow a friends td to make a jig. So by monday I should have one available. The one available right now are for mk2 1.6 tds. Mk3 1.9s will be made as soon as I can find some one with one I can borrow for the afternoon. These downpipes are mildsteel and mandrel bent, the flanges are cnc plasma cut and the holes are hand drilled.

can you please confirm that you are making a 2.5" mandrel downpipe that will bolt to a standard 1.6L TD engine (MF code) in a mkI chassis, for instance in a 1982 rabbit. a mkII style pipe will not work  :(

Hmmmm, so what benefits does a 2.5" downpipe give you?....will the intake manifold  also need to be changed to get the most  out of the larger downpipe?
No I am NOT in denial!!!!!

The benefits of a large downpipe, are reduced egt's, faster turbo spool up, less turbo stress. You will also notice some power increase and a really sweet sound.
