Leak around cold start lever. CY engine
« on: October 25, 2009, 09:29:26 am »
My pump is leaking around cold start lever. cant see if its shaft seal or cover seal. Seems imposible to work on it with pump installed. My question: If I uninstall injection lines and pump mounting bolts, will I be abel to swing pump outwards to be abel to do the reseal work without touching timing belt.

I doubt you would be able to swing it out enough.

I've seen pictures of people using soft clamps and holding the pump pulley to the belt so that they don't have to re-time the cam but I have no idea how well this works, or if it even does. You would need to retime the pump though, that's a for sure.
