1,9TD conversion, pump not working, help needed
« on: March 28, 2013, 08:44:44 am »
Hi!

I've swapped an 1,9 TD engine from an Golf 1993 into my shell. We've measured the current on the pump, and it seems to be fine.

Initially. I used the harnest from my car which also was an 1,9TD and the pump worked. But I had to use the harness from the donator car because of the harness from my car used some different connectors. Now with the new harness from the donator car, the pump doesn't work. I drove the donator car before the purchase so I know it worked well before the transplant.

The pump doesn't  give any fuel to the injectors.

I don't know which code you guys need to determine which pump I have on my engine, so I took a picture, and if that's not enough which code do you guys need to determine which tyoe of pump I have?

Just a standard 1.9 pump.

There only needs to be 12V to the solenoid above the injection lines to run. No 12V there no pump fuel.

ALSO because you had the lines off, it is likely just full of air. Fill the pump and filter and keep cranking.

Make sure that the pump is getting 12v while cranking.
