My gf(nat) Understands fully about my love for cars. I explained the reason why I would buy a 65$ shift knob and 100$ steering wheel is because I spend 3/4 of my time in the car. I travel ALOT. And my skills save us lots of money when it comes down to her car also. I did the Sparkplugs, Air filter, rotated the tires and it saved us over 150$ at the last servicing. And the bonus....SHE CAN WELD AND USE A GRINDER AND ALOT OF POWER TOOLS!!!!!!!!!!
When I'm working in the garage shes next to me handing me the tools and doing the work with me. It helps her father is a Diesel Mechanic and knows more then anybody I';ve ever met...
Does she do body work? lolol
Nice 'connection' ya have with her dad as well.....

I had no problem getting my soon to be wife addicted to VW's. She joined the local VW club with me. And the local SPAAMFAA (lots of letters for antique fire engines....lol) chapter. And I get to keep both the 89 VW and the fire engine in her backyard. Now I have to deal with neighbors......lolol
Guys in my firehouse break my chops about keeping the 89 Jetta. Said to one guy; "You used me and my truck to haul a 413 Chrysler for your
1964 boat . You have your hobby, I have mine..."

As for 'Diesel Dyke 1', it will be heading to the Toronto area in a week or so for work by Tyler. Found a rebuilt 1.6 TD for $800 Canadian with 200 km on it (about 120 miles). JACKPOT!!!
While I love cars, no matter how hard I try, I am always Mr. Badwrench. I love reading what ALL you guys do with these engines and turbos (though the turbo language is still confusing.), and wish I really could.I don't think I will ever get the HP you guys do (tho it will DEFINITELY be getting 'Gilesfied...)

. I just need the power for the hills on NY Rt. 17. But what you guys do with these engines is
TOTALLY AMAZING.All kidding aside, keep up the great work. I may stay in Toronto a few days and watch Tyler do his thing (if he lets me..

)
Stay safe, stay well. Jimmy.
