I have an AHU IP that only revs up to 1500RPM.
I know my ECM and injectors are working well because another pumps works great.
I was wondering what might limit the RPS to such?
Like would it be the metering system inside?
Limited RPM pump came off another engine and if that engine was an industrial TDI - which are not uncommon - could it have a governor that limited the RPMs but I would think though that if controlled by governor optimum RPM setting would be around 2200RPMs not 1500.
Is there a governor setting that I could check for adjustment?
What might I look for if I take pump apart to check?
And what other things might I check out that might cause low RPMs?
Thanks for any suggestions and ideas!
Stephen
Maybe the actuator, or solenoid N118.
Is there some way I can check the electrical resistance of solenoid from connector
to see if it might be bad -
and the actuator I assume is mechanical - what visibly can be checked that goes wrong with them?
Thanks
Stephen
Try to unscrew the regulator.
The sleeve might have gotten out. This happens as the cars get older.
Just put it back together.
If that's ok, then the actuator bellow the injector lines might be faulty.

On the - tdiclub in 101 - there is an injection pump drawings that depict the actuator - but where is this regulator that you are talking about?
Thanks
