question about which IP to use, aaz to mk1 swap
« on: August 06, 2009, 09:49:01 pm »
doing a aaz swap into mk1 for a friend and just curious which IP to use, the aaz has this "valve/solenoid" on the front and a additional wire for it not sure what it is, the original pump doesnt have it or a wire in the harness, which IP should i use? the aaz or the original pump? what does that solenoid thing do?

It controls a very minor timing adjustment mechanism that's used on some AAZs in conjunction with the EGR system... it can be connected to the 12V line already going to the fuel cutoff solenoid or simply left disconnected.  I leave mine disconnected.

Some folks say connected, others say disconnected.... I've played with it both ways and can't tell any significant difference... disconnected is easier!
