engine/gearbox mounts ..

i have changed the front and rear engine mounts on my car as they had`nt been changed for about 4 years and they stiffened the car up quite a bit, but now the engine is moving about again Could this be the gearbox mount ?
lets put it this way if i drive steady-ish at a slow speed it feels like i`m on and off the throttle its jerking back and forth and really pi**ing me off
reason i ask is because if it wont be caused be the gearbox mount i will be getting some solid engine mounts like race cars have..

you definitely don't want solid mounts on a diesel.  it'll shake you nuts.  while the front and rear mounts are the easiest to get to, its the two side mounts that do most of the work.  any plans to replace those?  they do require pressing, but I bet it will fix the movement problem.

i did think that the last mounts that i replaced seemed ok but still went ahead and changed them
i will have to check on prices for the mounts
