I am new to this forum but I am not new to VW Diesels. I have just accuried a 79 2 door non sunroof VW Rabbit Diesel. I am looking into building a engine for it and need some measurements for an idea I have. I need the piston pin height on an AAZ piston. I would also like to know the ring placment with reference to the piston crown. And if possible I would like to know the thickness of the piston crown.
I would like to fit the AAZ psiton with an ALH rod in my 1.6l block. I have access to a cheap supply of 1.6l blocks and ALH stock rods but before I order some AAZ oversize pistons I would like these measurements.
