ALH P0380 glowplug/heater circuit A
« on: July 13, 2009, 12:18:13 am »
so, my girlfriend bought a mk4 tdi jetta a few weeks ago, its got the ALH 90hp engine. the first few days having it the CEL light came on once for "P0380 glowplug/heater circuit A" it hasn't come on in the last 2 weeks so i thought it was a one time dealio, it came on again yesterday so i have been looking into it a bit more now, ive checked all the glowplugs and they all have the same resistance, about .6-7 ohms. the harness looks like it has been replaced recently but who knows how inclined the person who did it was, basically im wondering if the 2 wires on the harness are "interchangeable" or they only work when connected one way. Or is there anything else that could cause this? glow plug relay? should we just replace the harness again for the hell of it?

That usually means the relay is bad. New they're like $40 online.
