Now that I've fixed the leaky injection pump (replaced distributor head O-ring), I checked my fuel consumption and it is around 43 MPG doing 80% hwy (between 55 to 75 mph) and 20% city stop and go. Is that about right for an Ecodiesel with a 5 spd manual? Brakes are not dragging. There is a shimmy in the steering and I have not had the wheels balanced or checked alignment. How much can shimmy, wheel balance and wheel alignment affect fuel economy?
Driving highway 80% of the time with a stock eco trans probably doesn't help......
regcheeseman., you in the UK? Is that in imperial gallons? Are UK speedos in miles or km?I thought Eco diesels were only imported to California for emissions and no where else?
