Diesel Land Speed Record Classifications?
« on: June 29, 2009, 07:55:26 pm »
Hi, does anybody know what the various diesel land speed record vehicle classifications are?  I know there's "Streamliner", "Diesel Truck", "Highway Hauler", "Modified Diesel Truck", "Unlimited Diesel Truck", and "Streamliner".  Does anybody know if there are classifications for cars?  I found a couple of New Zealand references to a Peugot 306 turbo diesel that did 119 MPH, and a VW Jetta TDI (didn't see how fast).  I want to know what class a Porsche 924 running a 2.0L turbo diesel would be in (if any)?  This would specifically be for the Bonneville Salt Flats.  Anybody know?

Don't know what the classifications are, but I bet the Audi racecars are a LOT faster than that. ;D
