• On my mk3 golf im having a cold start problem, it seems that the glow plugs arent working, the light on the dash also dosent switch on.  Plugs are new, also the fuse in  the engine bay burned some time ago and i replaced it with some thin wire.  The wires is still there so that rules it out.  Is there another location or another fuse which I am missing?  Its really bad on cold mornings when you need to go, it smokes everything around :roll: .

• By replacing the fuse with the thin wire you just removed any protection that the system had. In all likelihood you have burned up the relay but consider yourself lucky if that's all that happened. You could burn your car to the ground by doing that.

• Ok  :shock: I will change this wire asap.  DO you know the relay number for the glow plugs?

• I'm sorry I don't have a MK3 manual. Does anyone else? Also note it may be different between the US and UK (Most of our MK3's were made in Mexico).
