what transmission to use

i have a 81 scirocco with a highly modified 1.9td that i use for a 1/4 mile car which transmisison should i use i tried a 96cl tranny and ran a 14.5 and ran a 1.9 tranny and ran and 16 flat so any suggestions on which transmission to try next my goal is atleast 13's

What kind of turbo are you running, and at what rpm are you hitting boost at?  Where in the rpm range are you hitting max boost and max torque? What size tire do you run for the strip? Are you going to run something like a welded diff?  Strictly track?  That info could make the difference in what gets recomended.  Mid 14's are pretty darn good.

i'm using a 1.6TD Turbo, Garret and i'm spiking 40psi boost and holding about 35psi , i have a giles pump with a 12mm head. a have 13 inch weld racing wheels 13x8 with MH 205 -60- 13 drag slicks.  2004 PD connecting rods. 3inch exhaust and snow performance water meth stage 2 boost activated. ported and polished with Custom Manley valve train inlet and exhaust valves both oversized .
