Bosch glow plug control diagram? Help needed.
« on: June 22, 2009, 11:49:27 am »
Hello,
Would one of you be able to provide me with a wiring diagram of some sort for the 12 v Bosch glow plug ctl unit 0 281 003 013. My AAZ is running a car I built  (not a VW) and I have to figure out my wiring at any step of the project. The unit in question is the conventional unit found in VW diesel cars.

Thanks.

Keep it simple if you can.

if thats the bosch GP relay its pretty simple

the regular bosch relay points speak for themselves - coil control etc and contacts (thick copper points)
T = thermistor on cyl head
L = yellow glow indicator
50 = starting circuit - 12V+ going to starter solenoid trigger terminal
Diesel IS the future

If you're talking about the AAZ engine in an MK3 chassis it uses a more complex "engine management module"... many many pins, inputs from engine coolant and the driver's side door... and your best bet might well be to get the actual Bentley manual. It also manages the fast-idle for A/C equipped cars, emissions controls on IPs so equipped, and the part-time turbo that some configurations come with.

If you're wiring this up yourself of course there's no need to be so complex... the old glow plug module works just fine and the wiring diagram has been posted on this forum multiple times. ;)
