So I have this freshly overhauled K14, but the numbnuts who built it totally neglected to test the wastegate. The diaphragm was torn, not that it mattered, because the valve was seized anyway. Here! Bolt this nice, rebuilt turbo on your engine so it'll overboost it to destruction. Nice. And to make matters worse, he's washed his hands of any responsibility.
I stole the diaphragm from another junk turbo and installed it in mine. I also honed the valve guide, polished the valve stem and lubricated it with graphite. It worked great for a couple weeks, but is now seizing up again.
Does anyone have a decent wastegate from a K14?
I'd rather not have to buy a good turbo. A core with a good wastegate would do though.
Thanks!
