Turbo and Injection Pump Install on a 1.9
« on: May 31, 2009, 01:53:18 am »
Hi All,

I have an ’82 pickup that I put a 1.9 liter crate motor in (motor was for a generator originally).  It didn’t come with an injection pump so I am just using my old 1.6 injection pump and the 1.6 injectors.  I have since bought a turbo, injectors and injection pump off a 1.9 and I have some questions on how to install them.  I’ve forgotten what exactly the pump and turbo are off of but I bought them off of e-bay years ago from someone in England.

1.  The injection pump has a plug on the side that my old 1.6 pump doesn’t have.  Can I wire this pump to work in my ’82 or do I need a different pump?  The pump has lots of numbers on it as follows
0 460 404 994
510 bt 4015
028 130 109 h
467 912890
22610

2.  I took my old injectors apart and cleaned them before installing them on the new motor.  Any reason not to do this with the 1.9 injectors?  Are there any parts that should be replaced when the injectors are rebuilt?  I’m pretty short on cash right now and I’d prefer not to have to pay someone to rebuild them.  The third injector has a wire and plug coming off of it, where does this get connected to?
3.  The turbo is a Garrett T15 (0281457010).  My main question is where do the oil lines tie into the motor?
4.  What type of intercooler fits well in the front of the rabbits?  Is there a minimum size needed or a maximum?
5.  What’s a good manual to buy that covers the 1.9?

Thank you all for any help you can give me.

Regards,
Sven
