I'm consider it.
I'm thinking about converting a gas engine cluster to use the diesel "w" terminal signal, there is a thread in the FAQ section about this.

yeah that's doable you need some kind of aftermarket signal calibrator I've seen them on ebay.

I thought you could just remove and replace some of the components on the tachometer printed circuit board as described
here
