Well i finished my turbo build with a n/a. The car runs so much better then before, i'm not sure how i got around without a turbocharger.
anyways
I'm running about 10 psi and when the boost comes on (mainly in fifth gear, but sometimes in fourth to the mat) The clutch begans to slip and the engine rpm raises...
now grant it i'm running the same clutch that was on the car when i bought it with an unknown number of miles.
My question is what would the best solution be for a replacment???
I don't plan on going outside the boost threshold of this original n/a block but don't plan to baby it.
Should i replace it with a stock replacment clutch kit or are there members here who have found a clutch set up that they will use as long as they own a VW diesel?
So any thoughts or comments on kits to buy or not to buy would be great!
Thanks Cambo
I've had no issues with the stock clutch and 25+ psi boost. And I drive like I stole it.
The way you put it, it sounds like mine might be wore slam out!!
Where abouts would be the best quality/value place to aquire a new clutch kit in the states?

Your probably down to the rivits
You could upgrade to a 210 lightened flywheel, 16V pressure plate and a good clutch disc. That should last a looooong time for you and it is all stock, meaning cheap.
What do you have in it right now for flywheel size?
Factory... I belive it's the 190mm flywheel
(by the way its a 81' rabbit 1.6l, FF 020 trans)
If you are not going to push it hard and just runs stock boost I guess you could just stay with the 190. I would feel more comfortable with either of the next 2 bigger flywheels, 200 or 210. Either of them should be plentiful and cheap to pick up. A lightened 210 with a 16v pressure plate is a nice setup that will be easy to come by, give you lots of holding power, and be there as insurance if you every decide to increase the power. Standard sach's clutch should be fine for your application.
