hello
any one know this engine?
i maybe going to pick one of these (2nd generation)but dont know much about them...
transmission ratios,engine feeling and performance...
i think it existed a TD version, what turbo and pump did it used?
is it power upgrade friendly or the material dosent take it well?
thanks
It has regular 10mm VE5 pump and KKK K24 which is slightly different than 1,6 version.
Engine internals are same as 1,6, with same d/td differences.
the one i am getting is a regular diesel...
thought that it was a diferent conception engine
brought it today to my parents home.
drove 30km without problem
cool thing is that it started at 4 turn of the engine...it has been sitting for 3 years
power steering doesent work, the fluid bottle is below low.how do i test/bleed the system?
parking brakes also doesnt work, maybe the cable is broken?
i plan on practice on this car as it has some rust holes in nasty spots(strut tower) an try to do the most myself.
i am a bike mechanical, not much experience on cars but will try

the power steering pumps on these engines are pretty bad... they overheat and die. you don't need to bleed them as its a self bleeding system. you could try topping it up with some pentosin but it might not work.
does the parking brake lever move? the rear brakes could be seized if not. if the lever moves all the way, then its broken cable(s).
it moves all the way.
my friend when he bought it he drove it 100km home and the power steering was working,as far as he remember.
If I remember correctly, the pistons and rods for the 2.0 I5 diesel are the same as the pistons and rods for a
1.5.
I really hope I'm wrong, because if I'm right it means I'm left trying to hunt up an extra .5mm oversize 1.5 piston, and they're the next best thing to impossible to find.

just do 1.6 / 4 = 0.4 2.0 / 5 = 0.4 so the cylinders have the same displacement
