Im doing an aaz conversion into my 91 vanagon with auto transmission. Im sure most of you have seen posts about it Its been slow going to say the least. My question is has anyone else ever done this conversion into an auto transmission van? I cant seem to work out how im going to get my throttle linkage hooked up from the engine to the bar coming off the transmission.
I am very unfamiliar with Vanagons but would the cable for a mk1/2 auto diesel not work?
im not actually sure Im unfamiliar with the MK1 diesels.
haha ok. Can you post a picture of your setup?
This is the bracket on mk1/2 auto boxes
I agree with Andrew. Study how it works on a Mk1 or 2 and adapt the cable end at the motor. You will also probably need the vanagon trans ends.
Well the nice thing about the lever on the trans now is it is a threaded tube. Im thinking Maybe I can cut one from an mk1 and figure a way to adapt it to the transmission only problem I am seeing at this point is it seems to be on the wrong side of the tranny.
