Exhaust question on my aaz.
« on: April 13, 2009, 04:46:20 pm »
Ok im asking the guru's on here because the local shop didnt know the answer.  Im running a 2.5" downpipe And want to do straight pipe exhaust on my van. But at the rear I want to Y it and run it out both sides. I talked to the shop they say it will fit. Im just curious if it will hinder the performance any, Im not looking for a gain here just dont want to lose any. You guys have any thoughts on it?

I can't imagine it would hinder in any way. Most of the flow will probably end up going out the drivers side.

Post pics when you're done, I want to see how it turns out!

how loud is it with the straight pipe? Do the 1.9 aaz cars need a muffler for some kind of back pressure?

Im running a straight pipe, its not too loud.....with the windows closed you can hear the engine more than the exhaust, and no it does not need backpressure....backpressure is created before the turbo. If your exhaust is going to be very short I would run some kind of muffler on it cause it will get loud.

Yea i would run a flowmaster or even a Cherry Bomb to quiet it down a bit more
